10 Meaty Dishes to Serve at Your Superbowl Party

It’s the football party of the year and everyone wants something big and hearty to chew on.  Here is a delicious assortment of dishes where meat is the star! Juicy burgers, barbecue, pork tacos, even a prime rib recipe to try – something for everyone!

1.  BBQ Pulled Pork Sandwiches with Homemade Apple Chutney

Sometimes you just need good old comfort food. Pulled pork takes a long time to cook, but it’s well worth the wait. Juicy, tender pork melts in your mouth. Try this delicious pulled pork sandwich with a rich, tangy barbecue sauce and spicy apple – a wonderful taste sensation. Messy, fatty, and rich. Good stuff!

2.  Slow-Roasted Pork Sandwich with Red Cabbage, Jalapeños, and Mustard

Pork shoulder is slow roasted and sliced thin in this recipe for a very tender and flavorful helping of meat. A red cabbage slaw made with red wine vinegar and olive oil tops the pork. Dijon mustard and fresh jalapenos finish off this succulent sandwich served on chewy ciabatta bread.

3.  Slaughterhouse Five Ribs

This delicious rib recipe is done in Kansas City barbecue style and comes from our friends at Oklahoma Joe’s Barbecue and Catering (Kansas City, KS). Good ribs take a long time to cook at low heat to get that tender, pull off the bone experience but it’s worth the wait.

4.  Argentinean Burgers

Argentineans are known for their love of beef, as well as their love of grilling. Almost everything that comes off the grill gets a side of chimichurri sauce. We’ve jazzed up your burger here with some homemade chimichurri sauce and a slice or two of Spain’s favorite cheese, Manchego.

5.  Filet Mignon Sandwich with a Chimichurri Sauce and Goat Cheese

A very delicious take on the steak sandwich – tender grilled Filet Mignon with Chimichurri sauce (a variant of green sauce), goat cheese and roasted sweet red bell peppers on Ciabatta bread.

6.  Spicy Chipotle Chili

There are many, many versions of chili. I like the more traditional versions. This one uses ground beef as well as steak for a nice texture difference. It has a bit of kick. If you like it hotter, just add more chipotle or jalapenos.

7.  Primanti Brothers Cheese Steak Sandwich

A Pittsburgh landmark since the 1930’s, the Primanti Brothers have made these massive cheese steak sandwiches a football season tradition. Not for the faint of heart, piles of spicy ham and provolone cheese are topped with coleslaw and hot fries; all on soft Italian bread.

8.  Croque Monsieur – French Ham and Cheese Sandwich

Love grilled cheese sandwiches?  This is the ultimate grilled ham and cheese!  Earthy, deep flavored Gruyère and Parmesan cheese are melted with slices of ham (use the best you can find for this sandwich).  The whole sandwich is smothered in a creamy béchamel sauce and more cheese is melted over the top. Great comfort food on a day you want to indulge.

9.  Salt and Herb-Crusted Prime Rib with Red Wine Sauce

Go big or go home!  For the ultimate meat experience, prepare a juicy prime rib for your guests.  This recipe is simple to prepare with a salt and herb crust that results in a moist and flavorful meat when finished.

10.  Carnitas Tacos with Apple Salsa – Spanish Pork and Apples

Here’s a delicious twist on the classic pork and apple pairing. The pork is tender and delicious when slowly cooked and mixed with spices. Wrapped in corn tortillas, a salsa of fresh apples and jalapenos top these off.
